Solfege Listening Activity for SMARTBoard
Solfege Listening Activity for SMARTBoard This SMARTBoard file is a great solfege listening activity to play with grades 1-3. In this SMARTBoard music lesson, students touch the large ear or character on each page to hear a child sing a solfege pattern. They then try to identify the written pattern heard. If they are correct, they can touch the second character for a funny comment reward. Some pages have students listen to three solfege choices before identifying the pattern seen. Notice that each musical pattern is linked to its sound for additional game possibilities. Pitches used in this SMARTBoard Music Lesson include: Sol-fa-mi. Options for the Solfege Listening Activity for SMARTBoard For additional reinforcement, have the students look at the pattern briefly and then write it on staff paper or the iPad, or use chips or bottle tops on staff paper.  Before listening, have students draw and “connect the note dots” on each written pattern so they can see the shape of the melody.
